Wheatgrass Canyon on bikes?!
Today was interesting. We've hiked Wheatgrass Canyon by Causey Reservoir and came up with the hair-brained idea to ride it. It's fairly flat but littered with obstacles and stream crossings. Though easy on foot, wheels are a different story. After the first 2 lung busting miles, we finally rode a section where we weren't forced to dismount for over a mile. 3 1/2 miles up the canyon we were on sketchy, bumpy, narrow trail until we gave up and turned back. Coming down was fun too. Fewer dismounts, but not lacking flair the trail tested our technical handling to its limits. So, we managed to make an 8 mile out-and -back ride without any damage, and though I may not be anxious to revisit this trail by bike, I have to recommend you do it at least once.
