After spending some time at the South Fork Ogden River my niece, nephew and I continued up to Causey Reservoir and Skull Crack Trail. There was a light drizzle of rain that kept thing nicely cool. The trail is completely exposed for only the first little bit and then heads up a short incline into the trees. Since the hike is not stressful this trail is perfect for kids. The only problem we encountered was the tiny rocks would slip under the kids feet. This could easily been a function of their poor shoes. We did decide to change the name of the trail from Skull Crack to Skinned Knee. The trees provide a beautiful place to hike. There are several trails leading off the main one. Once in the trees I am pretty sure these trails lead to where the cliff jumpers jump into the water. We stayed on the main trail. There were also a variety of flowers in bloom so the kids spent some time "resting" while I took some pictures. On our way back we made our way down to the waters edge where we had the kids highlight of the hike (throwing rocks into the water).
