Since it is still pretty early in the year, I wouldn't say this is the prettiest trail. You kind of have to look for pretty things but they are there. We found plenty to photograph we just had to pay more attention to the details.
About a 1/2 mile into the hike you get to a place that is quite rocky and the trail splits. We missed the split because the Skin Toe Trail seemed to disappear and so we went left up through the rocks. We ended up on the Baldy Ridge Trail. My son was coming down with a cold so he was not excited about any kind of an incline. I let him sit while I went up a bit. The climb was not bad but I couldn't really leave him so I didn't get to explore much.
All in all, we had a good time. There were a few families near the parking side of the trail fishing. This is a nice hike for someone who doesn't want to exert much energy but wants to be outside enjoying nature.
