This morning I set out with some other moms and a few kids on a hike up Wheeler Creek Trail. The first part of the hike was nice and shady so four of us made really good time getting to the top. The trail is only about 1.8 miles bottom to top. Some of the younger kids stopped and played in the river that runs along the trail never quite making the top (water shoes are great on this hike). In the spring the river can be fast, high, and dangerous but, as you can see from the photo, mid-summer finds it quite pleasant. Our only casualties were a couple of skinned knees (the loose rocks make flip-flops probably not the best footwear choice). All in all it was a pretty fun morning. Sorry about the photos. I forgot my good camera so these are off my phone.
