Leaves have peaked along the Ogden River Parkway. We had a lovely spin through golden arches of the natural kind. We started at the mouth of the Ogden canyon and took dozens of photos and took a side trip into Fort Buenaventura to admire the pond. Once we arrived at the pump track in Riverdale we had spent 1 1/2 hrs touring and headed back, which took less than an hour to return. If you're short on time or heading out on foot, the stretch between Washington Blvd and the canyon is the most scenic.
Summer is winding down and fall colors are dotting the mountain sides here in Ogden Valley. This was a very hot season and people flocked to the expanding beaches on their ever shrinking water hole. Pineveiw Reservoir wasn't able to fill up due to a weak snowpack, and an early, dry spring. That also meant it warmed up earlier than usual and the festivities on the lake were in full swing by June.
Whether you were lounging on the boat or the beach, being by the cool water was a treat with the sweltering summer heat. Even if you don't have all the equipment for your outing, Club Rec is on site to provide it.
